Three new members were elected to the International House Board of Trustees at its meeting on October 21st.
Iwao Kimura is Group Vice President and Coordinating Officer at Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (TMA), the holding company for Toyota’s North American sales, engineering and manufacturing operating units. Prior to his current position, Kimura was Vice President at TMA in Washington, D.C. He began his career with Toyota in 1981 and has held positions in overseas operations, international public and government relations, global strategic planning. Kimura is a graduate of the University of Tokyo.
Lauren C. States is Vice President of Skills and Capabilities on the Client Value Team at IBM. Prior to her current role, she was Vice President of Technical Sales and Software Enablement. She joined IBM as a systems engineer in 1978. In addition to her work at IBM, States was named one of the 25 Most Influential Black Women in American Business by The Network Journal in 2006. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School.
Karen E. Sutton is Senior Vice President, Global Client Development at Sotheby’s, Inc. In her 14 years at Sotheby’s, she has worked in facilities and operations, construction management and worldwide marketing. Prior to her work at Sotheby’s, Sutton rose through the ranks at the American Folk Art Museum, where she was ultimately Deputy Director, Planning & Administration. She is a member of The Cosmopolitan Club and a graduate of Hofstra University.
