Admission for the Summer Session
May 19 to August 13, 2010
International House is the perfect place to meet your summer housing needs during your summer internship or studies. We offer a welcoming community of approximately 700 students and interns from around the globe and provide a wide variety of programs and activities.
Facilities include a dining room, gymnasium, fitness center, computer lab, music practice rooms and study center.
Eligibility
For admission to International House during the summer, you must be at least 18 years old and affiliated with an educational or professional institution as a student, intern, trainee or visiting scholar. You are also eligible if you were or will be one of the above within six months of the summer session.
The eligibility requirements for the academic year are different from the summer session. If you are interested in membership at International House beyond mid-August please refer to the information about
academic year admission or contact the
Admissions Office for additional information.
Length of Stay
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for any length of stay of 30 days or more between mid-May and mid-August. For information about stays of less than 30 days, please read about our
guest accommodations.

Applications for the 2010 summer session are available now. The review schedule is as follows:

Complete applications received after April 23rd will be reviewed every three (3) business days. We recommend that you submit your application at least two weeks prior to arrival.

Canceling your Membership Prior to Arrival
International House charges a cancellation fee that varies depending on when we receive written notification of your cancellation or shortened membership dates:
- 31 days or more prior to your scheduled arrival date: Refund of $500 Room Reservation Payment. The Application Fee is not refundable.
- 14 to 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival date: Cancellation fee of $250 (deducted from your $500 Room Reservation Payment) in addition to the Application Fee.
- 13 days or less before your scheduled arrival date: The entire $500 Room Reservation Payment and the Application Fee are forfeited.
Please note that the cancellation policy applies to all applicants regardless of the date of your application.
Shortening your Membership After Arrival
If you shorten your membership dates after arrival, you are subject to the cancellation policy which states that you will be charged either 1) 30 days beyond your departure or 2) until the end of your Resident Membership Agreement, whichever is less. If a newly arrived resident member occupies your room after your departure, a refund will be issued to you from the day the new resident member arrives through the end of the period for which you have paid.
