"I would have to travel the world to meet the people I come home to every day at I. House"

Corporations and Foundations

The philanthropy of foundations and corporations has been integral to the success of the I. House mission over the last eight decades. Contributions from our supporters have enabled us to develop generations of global leaders who are adept at communicating and collaborating effectively across cultural, religious and linguistic barriers. Friends and supporters of International House share in our vision of creating an inclusive global society where differences do not lead to conflicts, but instead are channeled toward building a peaceful world.

Ways to get involved

There are a variety of ways in which corporations and foundations can collaborate with I. House in its mission to promote international cultural exchange and understanding:

  • Sponsorship of high-impact, intensive leadership training programs such as the International Leaders Program (ILP), the Women’s International Leadership Program (WIL) and the McLaine Central/Eastern European Leadership Program.

  • Supporting the breadth of enriching programs that foster cultural exchange such as salon nights, roundtable discussions on global issues, speaker events with renowned experts and world leaders and vibrant cultural celebrations.

  • Establishing a named fund to support the recruitment and retention of young leaders from underrepresented regions of the world or to support programmatic activities.

  • Matching employee contributions.

More than 80 years after its establishment, International House continues to break new grounds in fostering international cooperation by developing a robust, informal network of leaders who are committed to pluralism and transnational understanding. The experience of these young leaders in this educational environment enables them to serve as catalysts for peaceful collaborations among people of widely divergent backgrounds and beliefs.
