Columbia Global Poets Series

The Columbia Global Poets Series is a new program focusing on poetry and poets from around the world. The program in April 2015 will be the inaugural program at Columbia, and is a collaboration between the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) and International House. Prof. Wiman will share the program with renowned Nepali poet Yuyutsu Ram Dass Sharma who often writes about the Himalayas as well as the Hindu faith. The purpose of pairing these two poets is to provide the audience with a dual perspective on faith systems (Christianity/Hinduism), and how poets who are followers of faith systems express their interactions with the holy.
