Join fellow Alumni and friends to celebrate the I-House spirit for I-House Day Washington DC on Saturday, October 19, 2019. I-House Days are a great way to meet and reconnect with fellow Alumni in your city.
Date: Saturday, October 19, 2019 – 11:00AM
Location: the African American Civil War Museum and Memorial (1925 Vermont Ave NW, Washington, DC 20001)
Event details: Missing the good times you had and the friendships you made at I-House? Join fellow I-House Alumni to explore the African American Civil War Museum and Memorial. Pre-dating the much larger African American Museum of History and Cultural on the Mall, this comprehensive museum is rich in information about the dynamic role that African Americans have played in American armed conflicts, particularly the Civil War. The visit will include a 20-minute film and an enactor highlighting some of the exhibits. Afterward, the group will convene at the nearby Busboys and Poets for conversation. The cost is $5 museum donation on arrival, and post museum drinks and snacks are at each guest’s own cost. The group will meet at the African American Civil War Memorial, one of two exits of the U Street yellow and green line stations.
Please RSVP in advance so the planning committee can let the museum staff know how many to expect.
RSVP by October 16
