International House offers a welcoming community of approximately 700 students and interns from around the globe. Opportunities for professional and personal growth abound; through a variety of programs and activities within the House, Summer residents are challenged to share and explore the wide diversity of opinion and experiences found across the I-House community, which includes a myriad of cultures, customs and religions. The daily interactions, along with our exclusive summer programming, help build the core values of Respect, Empathy and Moral Courage that characterize the I-House Experience.
Amenities include a dining room, gymnasium, fitness center, computer lab, music practice rooms and study centers as well as a beautiful patio overlooking Sakura and Riverside Parks and rooftop decks with stunning views of NYC. Summer Interns, students and scholars looking for summer housing in New York City and an immersive experience of fun and globally-minded leadership training are encouraged to apply.
Exciting programs are being planned for this summer including film screenings, prominent guest speakers, fun trips in and around NYC to social and cultural sites, musical salon nights, cross-cultural round table discussions and ice cream socials. Room Types and Rates
International House is comprised of two adjacent buildings known as I-House South and I-House North. All bedrooms are furnished, single-occupancy private residential rooms. The rates vary according to factors such as size, floor and view. The fees paid by Residents pay only a portion of the cost to operate International House and provide programming. The difference is made up through generous donations from alumni, corporations, foundations, and friends.
There are 500 bedrooms, average size of 8’x11′ (2.4m x 3.4m) Each floor has shared single-sex bathroom facilities on the floor.
I-House North is an apartment-style building with furnished studio and one-bedroom apartments and 3, 4 or 5 bedroom apartment suites.
