Trip to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Meet at 11:00am outside of the Claremont entrance. Please join your Resident Fellows for a (socially distanced) trip to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. It’s officially cherry blossom season, and their signature collection of cherry trees on the garden’s famous Cherry Esplanade have flowered. We will explore the Cherry Esplanade, the Cherry Walk, and the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden, and we’ll witness an exuberant display that changes day by day. I-House Green Initiatives

End of Year Picnic

As we approach the end of the school year, we invite all current residents to join us next Sunday, April 25th from 12pm-2pm for an outdoor picnic on the Abby O’Neill Patio to share a moment together and bid farewell to our graduates and to Brian Polovoy, who has led us through a remarkable year. Usually we celebrate with a traditional Candlelight Sunday Supper in Davis Hall. Japan Consulate Officials Make Springtime Visit to I-House

On Tuesday, April 13, 2021, International House welcomed special guests from the Consulate General of Japan in New York. The visitors met with I-House residents and trustees and viewed the cherry blossoms in Sakura Park. Deputy Consul General Kenju Murakami and Cultural Attaché Masanari Taniai were greeted by three I-House residents: Anna Kudo, studying at Teacher’s College, Hiroyuki Shibuya, pursuing his Master’s in International Affairs at Columbia, and Eri Tayama, who received her Master’s at SIPA in February and currently works for UNICEF.
