Donor Match to Double Support for International House NY
The 2020 holiday season at International House kicked off on a particularly heartfelt note on Giving Tuesday, a global day of philanthropy, with a compelling and personal call to action from Interim President and I-House Trustee, Brian Polovoy, who generously matched every gift received that day. Alumni from every era of International House came forward to join him on December 1st, using the opportunity to magnify the impact of their giving. The most moving result was seen in the range of donors, with many Alumni around the world giving additional contributions this year, and friends from long ago coming forward to make their support known.
“It’s important for our community to see how invested our leadership is in supporting I-House.” said Polovoy. “We are working with our broader community—alumni, friends, and supporters—to bring I-House and its residents through this difficult time.”
As the event traditionally kicks off year-end fundraising, not only did Polovoy’s match inspire a groundswell of support, his peers on the Board of Trustees were watching closely. We are thrilled to announce that another Trustee stepped forward to increase their own giving, and will be matching all gifts made from December 21st until the end of the year, December 31st.
This is a special opportunity. Though the offer is limited in time, the general focus on end-of year philanthropic activity could significantly impact available funds for International House. Facing a reduced resident population until the pandemic abates—and many changes to our operations—this match has the potential to make a real difference to those living at I-House right now.
Donors who respond quickly will have their impact doubled, their contributions matched 1:1, and will join in on an exciting opportunity to leverage the generosity of our anonymous Trustee.
